The Girl
My name is Sammy and I am a 20 year old Website & Graphic Designer, and Beauty Consultant from Perth, Australia. I love oreos, winter, motorbikes, italian lads – better yet italian lads on motorbikes, reading, and other nerdy things. I also wish i lived on a farm.

The Designer
I started designing websites and making little animated graphics when I was 12. In 2002 a friend of mine foolishly introduced me to the online doll maker world (i.e. Dollzmania) which started a crazy addiction causing me to spend all my time when I wasn’t at school on the computer. This frustrated my family a lot at the time as those were the days when there was only one computer in the household, and it wasn’t hard to use up all the monthly dial-up internet downloads! Anyway this crazy addiction led me to joining groups and finding more sites until there were no more groups or site to find – well, none worth finding is apparently what i thought at that time. So I decided to make my own. I started my geocities account (gosh is goecities even around any more?) and built my first doll maker site. And then i made another one, and another one, this addiction went from making dolls to making websites. In about 2004 I made my first website for my dad’s company. I still remember what it looked like and shudder when i think of the disgusting code I used. I wish i still had a copy of that website.
8 years on and I have made websites for companies right across Perth including small business’, and charity organisations. I have also had the most amazing opportunity to work for the online Canadian Sustainable Fashion Magazine: Thinkmag, one of my most fondest projects.
The Photographer
At the moment just a hobby.
The Blogger
I started this blog in May 2012 as an average australian girl, who perviously had absolutely no clue how to keep her lipstick “inside the lines” and off her teeth. Now a couple months down the track i have picked up a few tricks and thought i would share them with everyone. I will also love to share my knowledge of the web design world. It’s honestly not as scary as everyone thinks it is, and i think i can help show that.
Being a Freelancer was not necessarily something i chose to do – actually it was kind of something that I was forced into doing it, but i am happy where my life is taking me at the moment and if i can help other freelancers possibly strike up the courage and take the chance at actually doing it, and provide as much information with my journey as i can, then that’ll be pretty good.
The Tools
The love of my life at the moment is my Macbook Pro. Actually it is more the Macbook trackpad that i love. It seriously just makes life 1000x easier.
Other tools I use:
- WordPress
- Adobe CS4 Photoshop
- Adobe CS4 Indesign
- Adobe CS4 Illustrator
- Coda by Panic
- Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Docs)
- Sony A330
- Canon Powershot SX40 HS
Well that is all for now.
